Wienerworld are proud to announce the DVD release of Petula Clark – Portrait of (BD5505-9). Originally aired by NBC in America on 7 April 1969, this 50 minute music, song and dance show, fronted by Petula Clark, shows her paying homage to London, Paris and New York together with Andy Williams, Sacha Distel and Ron Moody.
Petula Clark is one of the UK’s most successful female performers, best known for her upbeat, popular international hits of the 1960s, especially Downtown. With more than seventy million records sold worldwide, she holds the Guinness Book of World Records as having the longest span on the international pop charts of any artist. Wienerworld also announce a joint TV advertised campaign with UMTV (Universal) who will be releasing her new CD, Then And Now – The Very Best of Petula Clark on 16 June. The TV advert will feature footage from the Wienerworld DVD and will also incorporate a banner advertising the DVD. Both Wienerworld and UMTV will jointly promote each other’s releases in order to create retail awareness. Expect an extensive press and PR campaign surrounding these releases, as well as appearances on TV.
Petula will be embarking on a concert tour of the UK in June 2008, so this is your opportunity to turn down the lights, turn up the volume and enjoy a “downtown” performance by a truly unique entertainer.
