Jonathan Postal – All The Boys On St. Marks Place
West Coast punk time capsule – recorded in the early 1980s – from Jonathon Postal.
The Readymades, led by Jonathan Postal, were one of the most influential West Coast Punk/New Wave bands.
Towards the end of the 1970s, the group were opening for artists including Blondie, Patti Smith, Nico, The Stranglers, The Police, Talking Heads, Roxy Music and DEVO. Frontman Postal has collaborated with a range of artists since the conclusion of The Readymades’ last shows together, some of whom guest star on this release.
While primarily a San Francisco band – considered one of the most important early new wave bands from the area – this set was recorded in New York City. It contains material that spans the period between 1980 and 1983, in which time Postal worked with the Odds, The Gift and Bart Lewis from Smashed Gladys – who all appear on this record.
