With a career spanning more than half a century, Tina Turner has earned widespread recognition and numerous awards. She began her music career with husband Ike Turner as a member of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue and success followed with a string of notable hits including “River Deep – Mountain High” (1966) and “Proud Mary” (1971). She later went to become a successful solo artist and also appeared in several films, including Tommy where she played “The Acid Queen.”
