Brothers Lost: Stories of 9/11
Award-winning filmmaker Sean McGinly lost his brother Mark in the attack on the Twin Towers. Overwhelmed with grief and unwilling to let Mark fade away. Sean set out to find other men who had lost brothers on 9/11.
In this film, McGinly interviews men in their fifties and men in their twenties: men who are firefighters, traders, restaurant workers: men from different cultures and religions – Irish, Arab, Latino, Jewish. Yet, their stories reveal that the bonds of brotherhood are the same. “Brothers Lost: Stories of 9/11” isn’t about burning buildings and the horrors of terrorism.
It’s a life-affirming look at one aspect of the aftermath of this world-shattering event and an exploration of the unique love and loss shared by 31 men who lost their brothers almost simultaneously.
