Aftermath: Dr. Dre & Eminem

A double DVD collection of The Aftermath.

Dr. Dre – Andre Romelle Young began his career selling mixed tapes out of his 2nd floor bedroom window in Compton California. Customers would page him then wait until a plastic bucket was lowered for them to put $5 into, then the bucket would return with a mix tape inside. It was crude but effective for the beat master who’s sound would change the face of West Coast Rap. Today Dr. Dre is a legend who’s beats were so dynamic a line of head phones baring his trademark are the must have item for any DJ serious about their craft.

Eminem – He was visiting Los Angeles California to sell his debut mixed tape and to compete against other rappers in a competition affectionately called the Rap Olympics. Disappointed and disheartened at a 2nd Place finish that he felt was unwarranted the upstart rapper casually answered a request for a tape by a teenager named Dean Gosslin. The would be story teller got a unique call from Interscope Records CEO Jimmy Iovine. Also on the phone was his childhood hero Andre Young more famously known by his stage name Dr. Dre. The heavy hitters said they liked his tape and were interested in meeting with him. The rest is as they say…musical history…
