An up and coming rock/blues band from Torquay, Devon, Jay was influenced by Walter Trout and Jimi Hendrix and is regarded as a “hot shot guitarist”
 
Jay learned his craft with Devon Youth Jazz Orchestra, playing two tours in Europe and with Jools Holland’s band members Dennis Rollins and Pete Long plus jazz greats Stan Sulzmann and Ben Clatworthy
 
In the last two years Jay Tamkin Band have also opened for Pat Travers, Buddy Whittington, Chris Farlowe, Aynsley Lister, Popa Chubby, Ian Parker, John O’Leary Band, Nine Below Zero, Sherman Robertson, Man, Danny Bryant, Stan Webb’s Chicken Shack, Ian Siegal, Ruthless Blues, Billy Walton Band, Wilko Johnson and a tour in Europe with Spooky Tooth
 
Jay has also opened for USA’s acid jazz legend Roy Ayers, The Blockheads 30 years hits tour, The Baker Bros & New Jersey’s Jo D’Urso & Stonecaravan plus Mickey Kemp
