The project features six new tracks with guest appearances from longtime partner-in-rhyme Raekwon, as well as Reek Da Villain, Nizzle Man and Billy Ski-Mask. Ghostface Killah is critically acclaimed for his loud, fast-paced flow, and his emotional stream-of-consciousness narratives containing cryptic slang and non-sequiturs.

In 2006, MTV included him as an “honourable mention” on their list of the “Greatest MCs of All Time”, while the editors of About.com placed him on their list of the “Top 50 MCs of Our Time (1987-2007)”, calling him “one of the most imaginative storytellers of our time. “Q magazine called him “rap’s finest storyteller. “Pitchfork Media has stated that “Ghostface has unparalleled storytelling instincts; he might be the best, most colourful storyteller rap has ever seen. “NPR has called him “a compulsive storyteller”, and asserts that “his fiction is painterly.”

Significantly, it marks the first time that Arrested Development have worked with equally legendary collaborators, making this their biggest ever release. Big Daddy Kane, The Sugarhill Gang, Masta Ace, Freddie Foxxx, Monie Love, Kxng Crooked, G. Love, Tony Momrelle (Incognito), Dee-1 and Fatman Scoop all feature. Legends of this calibre rarely do features and yet have graced this album. Arrested Development have always been dedicated to supporting up-and-coming talent, and this trend continues with the likes of Twan Mack, Dell-P, Lish, Ke’Andra, 4ize, Twisted Royalty, Cleveland P. Jones, MRK SX and Jahah all adding weight to proceedings. When it comes to boom bap and classic rap, few artists come close to Arrested Development.

The two-time Grammy Award winning hip-hop group was the first hip-hop group to ever receive the Grammy for Best New Artist, while also receiving one for Best Rap Single. Showing the group’s widespread appeal, its track ‘Tennessee’ was later named by the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame as one of the Top 500 Songs That Shaped Rock & Roll, while the group was recognised at the Black Music Honors Awards in 2019. Meanwhile, 1993’s ‘Unplugged’ album was not only Gold-certified by the RIAA, but proved influential as one of the first hip-hop performances from the institution that is MTV.

This 12-track set features many of their classic tracks alongside a few country & Western standards. The group’s line up consisted of Skip Battin and Gene Parsons (both ex-The Byrds band members), along with Gib Guilbeau, Joel Scott Hill and original Burrito pedal steel legend, “Sneaky” Pete Kleinow. This live recording is previously unreleased.

1976 was a great year for The Flying Burrito Brothers, with them having the opportunity to travel throughout the USA celebrating the 200th anniversary of the founding of the United States. Though Gram Parsons wasn’t around anymore, Chris Hillman embarked on a solo career and Chris Ethridge had just departed the band, there were some great guys that just happened to be really familiar with the ‘Burrito’ mentality. It all came together quite spectacularly!

To begin, Gib Guilbeau was a Cajun guy par excellence. Gene Parsons, formerly of The Byrds, was he drummer from hell who lifted the excitement to the limit? (And picked a great banjo and string bender guitar). What can be said about Joel Scott Hill? A rebel? A reverent fanatic? A soulful, emotional artist? ALL of the above! Then there is Skip Battin, who just joined the band whom everyone loved and called friend, who provided very original bass and vocal support.

All these cuts are genuine items from a live performance at New York City’s legendary Bottom Line club with all the warts AND magical moments. No fix ups and no apologies. Just real music and true enthusiasm.

Both Havoc and Styles P have collaborated with a number of artists in recent years. Havoc released joint albums with Alchemist, Flee Lord and Dark Lo. His last solo album was in 2014, the same year as the last Mobb Deep album. Styles has teamed up to release projects with Talib Kweli, Berner and Dave East in recent years. In addition to new music from The Lox, Styles P has released at least one new album every year since 2018.

On the album, Styles P raps over Havoc’s gritty, piano-laced production. Havoc also gets busy on the mic and lets his opponents know that for all his success, he’s still the same kid from 41^st Side.

New album ‘RZA vs. Bobby Digital’ features the hard-hitting single, ‘Saturday Afternoon Kung Fu Theater’. According to a press release, DJ Scratch handles production on the album. “Giving Scratch the reins as a producer and me taking the reins as an MC, that’s what frees me up creatively and lets me play more with lyrical gags and lyrical flows because I don’t have to be focused on everything”, RZA explained in a statement.

Deemed a “pioneer” by Jay-Z (Decoded, 09) and credited by Ice-T as releasing the first gangsta rap record (Props Magazine), Schoolly D’s career has given inspiration to countless musicians and fans alike. Songs like ‘Gucci Time’, ‘Saturday Night’ and ‘P.S.K. What Does It Mean?’ have become classics and illustrate the uncompromising narrative that has become synonymous with the hardcore gangsta rap of the eighties. His true-to-life lyrics give a snapshot of the streets of his hometown, Philadelphia, and the influences that drugs and gang life had on him as a young man. Today, Schoolly D has an almost cult-like following, as his music continues to be referential. Even younger generations have been turned onto him thanks to his work with Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

This release is Schoolly’s 2021 album ‘Cuz Schoolly D Is Crazy’ and features a remake of his classic ‘P.S.K.’ with appearances by B-Real from Cypress Hill and Too Short. The album also features appearances by Chuck D and Ice-T. The album was recorded using the same studio and production of his legendary first three albums. It’s reminiscent of his early work and showcases his rhythmic raps, mastery of beats and sometimes-explicit lyrics, proving the lasting power of one of rap’s legendary b-boys.
