Dr. Demento unleashes “Get Demented,” a wild new single that revives the spirit of classic novelty music with a Dr. Seuss-inspired visual style and a wink of pure comic genius.

The legendary Dr. Demento is back to stir up a new wave of madness with his all-new single “Get Demented.” The world’s most beloved purveyor of mad music and crazy comedy takes the mic himself, leading this wild new original track backed by nerd-rock outfit the Amoeba People. Written especially for Dr. Demento, the song carries forward the tradition of classic novelty music while bringing in sharp, modern themes that fit perfectly in today’s unpredictable times.

Visually, the single’s cover art is just as outrageous as the title track itself. The stunning new Dr. Seuss-inspired cover art was illustrated by Joe Simko, the celebrated lead artist behind Topps’ Garbage Pail Kids and Wacky Packages, with concept and art direction by John Cafiero of Osaka Popstar and Demented Punk. The result blends two unmistakable pop-culture icons, Dr. Seuss and Dr. Demento, into one unforgettable image that captures the gleeful absurdity of the moment.

The new single makes its physical debut with this RSD exclusive release on limited edition 12-inch colored vinyl, also featuring Dr. Demento’s long out of print cover version of the novelty classic “Shaving Cream” on the flip side! Originally released in 1980, Demento’s rendition of “Shaving Cream has been digitally restored and newly remastered in 24 bit from the analog source to be made available for the first time in decades!

For more than 50 years, Dr. Demento has been the authority on musical mischief, championing novelty hits and discovering new voices in the art of the absurd. His long-running syndicated radio show created an entire genre of comedy music and launched the career of “Weird Al” Yankovic. His influence has earned him honors in the Comedy Music Hall of Fame, the National Radio Hall of Fame, and even a cameo on The Simpsons.

This 110 minute concert from Dickey Betts, the legendary Allman Brothers guitarist, was recorded at the Calderone in New York on August 11, 1978.

3xLP, WHITE/RED/BLUE Vinyl. Previously released on CD and digital only in 2017 this 110-minute concert performance from Dickey Betts, the legendary Allman Brothers Band guitarist, was recorded at the Calderone Concert Hall on Long Island, New York on August 11, 1978. The show features 13 tracks including the ABB classics “Jessica”, Southbound”, “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed”, “Blue Sky” and “Ramblin Man” along with tracks from the 1977 album from his Great Southern band. The triple LP set will be packaged in a gatefold sleeve with new liner notes from Allman Bros biographer Alan Paul, memorabilia and photos. Dickey’s recent passing has created a heightened appreciation and demand for his music and this brilliant performance on vinyl is certain to be highly collectible. The Allman Brothers Band’s At Fillmore East, was of course the album that captured the original Allman Brothers Band at their high water mark, showcasing a group as original and fiery as any ever to take a stage, spotlighting and fueled by Betts and Duane Allman’s remarkable playing. It’s the ghost that the band and all its members were always chasing. Performances like the one heard here show remind us how large of a part Betts played in the ABB’s brilliance and how he could summon the musical Gods on his best nights throughout his career. “When Dickey was feeling like this, his playing floated over time and existed on its own place. This performance is as good as any that I can recall the band doing.”

Legendary blues vocalist Jimmy Witherspoon teams up with guitar hero Robben Ford at the Troubadour for this never before released 1972 performance

Blues Hall of Fame vocalist Jimmy Witherspoon teams up with guitar hero Robben Ford at Hollywood’s famed Troubadour in March of 1972. This never-before-released radio broadcast performance features nine tracks, including three Witherspoon originals plus classic songs from Willie Dixon, Sonny Boy Williamson, and Lieber and Stoller. This is one of the earliest recordings of Ford’s extraordinary career, starting back in 1970 with Charlie Musselwhite and Witherspoon before joining Tom Scott’s L.A. Express.

He went on to shred with Steely Dan, Kiss, Yellow Jackets, Miles Davis and lead on 25 of his own albums This limited-edition vinyl release will be pressed on cobalt blue vinyl exclusive to Record Store Day. Blues vocalist Jimmy Witherspoon and blues guitarist Robben Ford are at the peak of their performing career during this 1972 recording, backed by a young but enthusiastic electric band that he had recruited after hearing them open for him in a club the previous year. With a fresh, young band in tow, one that was designed to capitalize upon the electric blues resurgence that had occurred in the those years, Witherspoon delivers a set list that ran the gamut from his early hit single Ain’t Nobody’s Business What I Do to a stampeding cover of the Jerry Leiber-Mike Stoller composition Kansas City.

Witherspoon is in a playful mood, frequently speaking to the audience. The set is filled with several other Witherspoon’s most popular numbers, including “Past Forty Blues,” “My Babe” and “Spoonful.”.

Unreleased performances of the influential tenor saxophonist recorded at Birdland in 1951 and 1952 for the “Jumpin With Symphony Sid” radio show

The never-before-released set captures one of the most influential tenor saxophonists of all time, live at NYC’s iconic jazz venue Birdland. It features eight tracks recorded on four different dates in 1951 and ’52 for ABC Radio’s famed “Jumpin with Symphony Sid.” Host Sid Torin introduces several of the tracks, one of which, “Neenah,” includes a shoutout to audience member Billie Holiday who originated the bebop legend’s nickname “Prez” (for “President of the Tenor Sax”).

The backing bands feature pianists John Lewis, Cyril Haynes, and Earl Knight; percussionists “Papa” Jo Jones and Lee Abrams; bassist Gene Ramey; and trumpeter Jesse Drakes. The album will be pressed on 180-gram vinyl and features rare photos with extensive liner notes from jazz historian Scott Yanow. Here’s an excerpt of the performance notes: In 1951, the 41-year old saxophonist was still very much in his prime, leading a supportive and swinging quartet.

The first three numbers on this album are from Jan. 20, 1951 and have Young joined by pianist John Lewis who was a year away from forming the Modern Jazz Quartet, bassist Gene Ramey, and drummer Jo Jones. Five weeks later on Feb. 24, 1951, Lester Young was back at Birdland, this time with pianist Cyril Haynes along with Ramey and Jones. Young is in the spotlight on a medium-slow version “These Foolish Things Remind Me Of You.” & Pres’ simple up-tempo riff blues “Neenah” Side two moves ahead to May 19, 1951 with trumpeter Jesse Drakes making the group a quintet. Young and Drakes make for an appealing frontline on spirited versions of “Indiana” and “How High The Moon” from the May 19 broadcast.

The final selection from a May 2, 1952 broadcast brings back Young, Drakes and Ramey but with pianist Earl Knight and drummer Lee Abrams. The quintet concludes this compilation with a romping version of “Deed I Do” that makes one look forward to future releases in this valuable series.

SLADY – The World’s Only All-Female Slade Tribute Band – Drops Glam-Packed New Mini-Album Coz I Luv You

Fronted by the charismatic Gobby Holder alongside Jem Lea, Davina Hill, and Donna Powell, SLADY deliver a high-energy mix of Slade classics, deep cuts and their own originals. Since forming just before the pandemic, the band has built a loyal international following and won praise from Slade’s original members themselves. Noddy Holder famously said of Gobby: “It’s like looking in the mirror” while original SLADE drummer Don Powell called the band “Fantastic!”

The Coz I Luv You album reimagines Slade’s 1971 hit of the same name, adds a thunderous version of My Oh My and debuts two originals – the glam-rock anthem Do Ya Wanna (Feel Free?) and the unapologetic Dig Me – with a revamped release of Cum on feel the noize plus previously unreleased bonus track Slade are for life (Not just for Xmas).

“We’re not just a tribute band; we are the female Slade—Slade in an alternate universe, Slade reborn,” says frontwoman Gobby Holder.

SLADY’s rise has been electric. From headlining the main stage at Rebellion Festival to supporting The Rezillos and The Hold Steady, playing for Bobby Gillespie’s 60th birthday, and touring across Europe. Their upcoming plans include tours in the USA and Australia.

Endorsed by all four original Slade members, SLADY have proven they’re more than a tribute—they’re torchbearers of glam rock’s wild spirit, blending homage with originality.
